For aspirants and candidates

Three questions, answered plainly.

This is the whole thing, without the sales talk. If anything below is still unclear, write to barazacivic@gmail.com and a person will answer you.

1

What does Baraza do?

It gives you a page that voters find when they look up who is running where they vote.

Kenya has 1,450 wards. Baraza has a page for every one of them, listing the people contesting there and how many registered voters it holds.

When somebody searches for who is running in your area, your name, your party and your plans are what they find. Not a poster somebody tore down. Not a rumour.

2

How does it help me?

It carries your words to the people who can actually vote for you — including the ones who are not there right now.

Everything you post is tied to the place you are contesting, and goes to people registered to vote there. You are not shouting into a national timeline where a Nairobi argument buries you.

Many of your voters are living and working somewhere else and will come home to vote. A poster in the ward never reaches them, and an advert bought by location never finds them, because their phone is in Nairobi. Baraza knows where they are registered, so your message reaches them wherever they are.

The party ticket usually goes to whoever walks into the nomination with the most voters already behind them. Your dashboard counts yours: supporters registered in your seat, how many of them live in other towns, and which towns. You can show a party official a number, not a feeling.

And it does not end at nominations. The same page, with the same following, carries through to polling day.

3

Do I have to pay?

No. Being listed is free, and it stays free.

Your profile, your ward page, your followers and answering voters cost nothing, now or later. Nothing you could buy moves you up a list — listings are ordered by name, and we say so in writing.

You pay only if you want the campaign tools. That is one payment of KSh 7,500, not a monthly bill.

What the KSh 7,500 includes

One payment. It covers you for the whole election cycle, through nominations and on to Tuesday, 10 August 2027.

  • The gold verified badgeWe check by hand that you are who you say you are. It is not an endorsement.
  • Your manifesto, publishedA real document voters can read, plus a generator that turns your thinking into one.
  • Volunteer sign-up formsYour ground team collects itself instead of you writing names in a book.
  • An event calendarRallies, barazas and church visits, where your ward can see them.
  • Your supporter list, exportableYour volunteers with their contact details, and your followers by name and ward.
  • AnalyticsWho is reading you, and where they are registered to vote.
  • Direct messaging and open Q&AVoters ask, you answer, on the record.

To pay

M-Pesa Pay Bill 522533, account 8142115 — or KCB Bank Kenya account 1356561268, FIREBIRD COMPUTING LTD.

Start the purchase on Baraza first so your payment reaches your own account, then tap “I have paid”. We confirm it against the bank alert.

SMS campaigns and digital billboards cost extra and only if you ask for them. We would rather tell you now than let you find out later.

Start with the free part

Claim your page and write one post about why you are running. A page with nothing on it tells a voter nothing, and that first post costs you nothing but ten minutes. Once you are in, the campaign kit gives you ready-made posts and stories for your own Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok — also free. There are 22,102,532 registered voters in Kenya and the campaign has barely started.
